Goal:The goal of this course is introduction to various classic and digital 2D animation technologies, as well as with animation principles and rules, including phases and processes in this field.
Outcome:Students will have a chance to master process of preparing and creation 2D animations in traditional and digital techniques - stop motion, stop trick, drawing and collage animation.
A special review will be given to sound as an integral part of animating film.
In practice, students will be introduced with workflow in Adobe Animate, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe After Effects, as well as introduction to Maya 3D.
Contents of the course
Theoretical instruction:
Introduction, retina persistence, concepts, terminology, technology and classical animation development.
Animation techniques.
History of animation.
International animation films, schools and styles.
Principles of animation
Film language, pre-production, production, post production.
Film aesthetics, lighting, framing, editing.
Motion graphics
Perspective, layout, parallax
Computer games - terms, motivation, genres
Computer games - elements of other multimedia in games and specifics.
